Vacation – Anniversary

Wow, had a great time on our trip this summer. Gone from home for a total of 10 days. Don’t think I’ve ever been away from home for so long. Had a great time, and no regrets.

Worked a short day on Thrusday May30th, grabbed the rental car, then started to head out to Reno for the night. Not much to really mention here, besides that the fact that Reno is far from amazing. Thought the place was a dump, and rude people. Just wasn’t impressed.

Friday, we started on our way to Oakhurst, CA. Took a different way cutting through South Tahoe for lunch. Cute little town, and we enjoyed it. But wow, it was a long beautiful drive through the mountains, little towns, etc. Drive was long mostly due to the speed limit, curves in the road, etc. Got an odd feeling that Apple Maps screwed us a few times. It was a long day with lots of driving.

Slacking off on this. Meant to do a update, but just too busy with life. Well, that’s the excuse i’m going with anyway.

The basement…..Got that basically finished. Few little things we need to finish up with, but for the most part it’s done. Looks awesome, and i’m excited to have my basement back. Really enjoyed the fact of everyone that stepped up, and helped with the basement. Couldn’t have gotten it done without help from Matt, Jim, Stephanie, and Ben.

Got the boat basically ready for the season. Past few weeks I repacked the wheel bearings, changed out the fuel/water filter, hooked the battery up backwards. grrrrr, that fried a cable, and had to fix that. That was super frustrating. 15 seconds of the cables backwards, smoke, 10 hours to find the cable, make sure nothing else was fried, splice in a new cable. It’s fixed now, but time consuming, a weekend that I could have been fishing. Me and Stephanie did make it up to Willard Bay last Saturday, didn’t catch anything, but was nice to get out. Did loose a buddy bearing at some point, so I need to look at the wheel bearings again. grrrrr…. I wanna replace the other two fuel filters, and the water impellers. I’ve never done a water impeller before, so that should be interesting, fun, frustrating, and rewarding.

Las Vegas…..

Las Vegas.....

Me and Angela went to Las Vegas over Memorial Day weekend for PRB. We had a great time there in Vegas. We left on the Thursday before Memorial Day at around 2pm. Had to run James up to Justine’s house, then we headed on down to Vegas. Took us a while to get there. Longer than I wanted to, but we took our time. Stop in St. George, along with a few other stops along the way. Took us over 7 hours to make it to Vegas.

The first night we stayed at a suite at the Luxor. It was nice and we both really enjoyed it. That first night we walked down the strip for a little bit and had a good time. The other four nights we stayed at the Gold Spike just a block away from Freemont. We mostly went due to a punk rock music fest down there. Saw some great band. Cock Sparrer, Leftover Crack, Street Dogs, Stiff Little Fingers, Dropkick Murphys, and many more. Meet up/ran into some peoples from Utah, and that was great. Overall, we had a great time. But it should be noted, I’m NEVER going to stay in Vegas for 5 nights ever again. It became one expensive trip, mostly due to Blackjack.

I’m not gonna go into great details regarding the trip. Be too much to type. But yeah, no major complaints about Vegas. Good music, good times, and good memories to last a lifetime…….

Denver Trip

I was hoping to blog more about the Denver trip earlier this month. I wont post much, but will mention that I had a good time. It was nice with putting faces with names from our Denver office, Boca office, and our resellers. It was nice getting to know more about Dustin and Harvey also. I’m glad that the trip and everything is done. I had a lot of things going on in my world when the trip happened. It’s great that everything went as planned.

Flight Back

Flight Back

Uggggg…..I just want to go back home. I can now understand why so many many people bitch about flying. Tiny ass little plane. Crammed full of people. Uggg.

Besides that, my trip to Denver has been good. I have nothing major to bitch about. If anything I’ll bitch about Broomfield. Yuppie ass town with Starbucks on every corner.

Last night me and Dustin decided to hit downtown Denver. Went to a burger joint on 16th street. It was good, but 12 bucks for a damn burger. WTF! In and out cheaper and more than half the price. Hell Carls Jr.

Portland-Day 4

Posted in Portland on August 24th, 2007 by James

Good ol day 4, this takes us to us to Saturday. Lazy morning for sure. Got gas in the car, went to Walmart, scratch it tickets, few other little things. Did get a money order for my brother, and mailed that out for him for his new guitar. Val and Sean had eye appointments, so we didn’t hang out with them very much.

Packed up the car and went on over to Jasons. Got over there, hanged out for a bit and had a beer. We then went to a German place for dinner. Mighty damn good food, along with another New Castle to wash it down with. Jason showed us around town for a bit. Went back to his place to makes some drinks. Spanish coffee and white russians. Wish we made our jaegar bombs, but oh well. Maybe next time. Later on we ended up watching The Host. Pretty good flick, I was so damn tired that I ended up missing bits and pieces of it. I was surprised that Justine wasn’t the one that feel out, and that she enjoyed the movie. I think she may have enjoyed it more then me.

Biggest disappointment of the day was that our air matress had a hole in it, and failed to keep air. Even packing tape didn’t take care of the problem. Oh well….

Portland-Day 3

Posted in Portland on August 24th, 2007 by James

Day 3, good ol Friday. This is the day that we went to Cannon Beach, Or. Got up took our time for getting ready for the day. Left Vals at around noon if I remember correctly. Cannon Beach was around 1 1/2hr away from Vals place. Felt like it was a waste of a day for sitting in the car 3-4 hours of the day. I ended having a good time making life horrible for Anna (Val’s Kid) for the length of the car ride.

Portland-Day 2

Posted in Portland on August 24th, 2007 by James

Day 2 was good, sleep in a bit. Woke up to some great weather. Overcast, slight breeze, little bit of a rain spinkle. Had a lazy morning nothing too special. We decided to do a walking tour in the afternon. That was pretty cool. The tour included the bad side of Portland. Murders, drugs, sex, shanghaiing, and locking up japanese americans during WW2.

After that we ate like abunch pigs at Sizzler, and then on back to Val’s place. We then went to an English Pub called Horse Brass. It was a nice place, but not what we were looking for. I’ve gotta add that Val fell in the parking lot on the way into Horse Brass. Fell flat on her face. Felt bad for her, but it was damn funny at the same time. Due to the place being a bit on the lame side for what we were looking for. We went back to Cheers. I must say that Horse Brass is awesome just for the simple fact for having New Castle on tap.

Overall a good day, just like the rest of the trip.
