Second Weekend

Posted in Friends, General, Movies on January 14th, 2019 by James

Second weekend of the year, and everything is still going good. Diet is going alright, didn’t eat the best this weekend. Went to La Puente for dinner Friday evening, and it was damn tasty.

We finished up Killing Eve, and it’s a great show. We also finished up Sick Note, and Barry. Both alright shows.

Not a bad weekend by any means, and doing alright with my diet. One of my goals for this year is my diet. Eat better and try to loose some weight. I was 229 Jan 2nd, by the end of the week, down to 224. My goal is loose 50 lbs. No clue if it’ll happen, but anything is better than nothing.

Friday night was alright. Bubblebee for dinner, Stephanie went to bed early since she had work on Saturday 🙁 I ended up watching the new Mission Impossible – Fallout. It was alright, nothing amazing, but a fun flick.

Ended on a Great Note

Ended on a Great Note

Had a pretty good week. I think it was mostly cause it ended on a great high point. Had Saturday off from work. So what do I do??? Go to the bar, and have an awesome time. I was able to talk Justine into coming down and picking up the kids Friday. Me and Megan car pooled up from Orem. Picked up Glad from work, got ready, and then off to the bar. Few bands were playing including Corvid. The music wasn’t bad, didn’t have any major complaints over it. Got home at about 1am. Picked up a 12 pack of Pabst on the way home. Was up having a good ol time, Ben left about 4am or so. Time just flew by, next thing I know, it was 6am. Up at 5:30 Friday morning, up till Saturday 6am. Haven’t pulled one of those off in a long time.

Saturday morning I was up at 10am. Don’t know why, I was tired. Just didn’t feel like going to bed. We had Ben, Val, Derek over for breakfast. After that, me and Glad went to take Megan back home. We then run out to Magna, and went to the Wine Store with my mom to pick up some wine for Xmas Eve. Made a stop by Cafe Rio, and then finally home. Watched a few episodes of Dexter, then off to bed. Long day, and I was in bed at 9pm. The sleep was much needed.

I did watch a great movie this past Thursday. It’s called World’s Greatest Dad. I really enjoyed the movie. Dark comedy fucked up movie. Not your typical Hollywood movie with a nice ending. ha!!

The Past Week…

The Past Week...

Woke up Tuesday morning and got the kids off to school. Went back to bed for a few hours then got up to see Inglourious Basterds. Glad wasn’t feeling up to it, and stayed at home. So I just went by myself. I really enjoyed the movie, and thought it was great. It was about time I saw a full price movie that I enjoyed. I guess I enjoy the Watchmen also.

Tuesday night, Val Crum came into town. We took the kids to see Def Leppard and Poison. Not really my cup of tea, but I had a good time. Traffic was HORRIBLE. We got there an hour late and missed Cheap Trick. If traffic wasn’t an issue, we would have gotten there in 5-10 minutes. But it took a good solid hour to get there. Then afterwards, it took us an hour to get home. It was worth it, and I had a good time.

Wednesday night, me and the kids went to Valley Fair Mall. I got a new case for my phone. Afterwards, Jim came over to play some cribbage. Usually the games of cribbage with Jim are real close, or I get my ass kicked. Needless to say, it was the other way around. Either way, I had a good time.

Been Too Busy….

to keep this darn thing updated. Last Saturday, we went on up to Lagoon for a family reunion. Had a good fun time there. Jayden and James both wussed out when it came to alot of the rides. Me and Glad didn’t let that slow us down, and rode abunch of the rides. Yesterday, I went on up to Evanston to fixed the inlaws computer. That was nice to hang out with Val and Becky for a bit. We had Val Crum, and Ben over Tuesday night for dinner and to hang out. That was a fun to have them over. Wednesday morning Me, Glad, and the kids went to go see Transformers. I wasn’t impressed. I thought it was a boring movie, sure some of the action scenes were fun, but was just boring. Acting, plot, story, etc was just weak. Work has been very busy this past week.

Crazy Week, Lots of Movies

Posted in Movies, Music on May 1st, 2009 by James

Seen abunch of movies over the past week. Tuesday Megan came over which was good. We all went to the Vibrator show. Had an awesome time, but the music was a disappointment. The lead singer/guitar player wasn’t there. So the vocals were shared between the bass, and the drummer. Then they had some new guy on the guitar. Disappointment, yes. Damn good time, yes.

Wow for movies I’ve watched over the past week.

The Wrestler: Awesome, really enjoyed the movie.

The Reader: Still not sure about this movie. I would say that I enjoyed it. I guess it’s worth watching.

The Uninvited: It was entertaining. Not sure about the ending. But I wouldn’t say it was good.

Baghead: -yawn- Something about it, that I enjoyed. What that was, I don’t know. Cause it sounds like a lame movie, and was to a point.

Gran Torino

Posted in Movies on January 20th, 2009 by James

Watched Gran Torino with Ben and Val today. I wish that Glad was able to go, but she was working.

I was an alright movie. I thought it was predictable, and knowing how it ends. It was a good movie, worthing watching, but not amazing.

I’m working on day 3 of being a non smoker. And wow, I’m doing good, but a damn cig sounds great.

Me and Glad watched Towelhead last night. Wow, kinda a crazy movie. Still don’t know what to think of it. I think I enjoyed it for the most part. Parts of it, I didn’t care about. This movie is not for everyone, that’s for damn sure. I think a big thing that ruined it is that Aaron Eckhart accent. He tried pulling off a southern Texan accent, and I think he did a shitty job at it. Some of the acting wasn’t the best. I would have to say that Summer Bishil, and Peter Macdissi did a good job on the acting side of things.

I stole this next bit from of what the movie is about.

A 13 year old girl looks for direction on her own sexual development in all the wrong places. Something that is very natural and not a bad thing gets turned into a seedy, disgusting act thanks to her pedophile of a neighbor. If anything, this film should serve as a cautionary tale to all parents.

Stole the rest of this from the same thing on

Christmas 2008

Posted in Family, Movies on December 26th, 2008 by James

Christmas was pretty good all things considered. I had Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday off this week. Monday Glad was working, so it was just me and the kids. Had a pretty good mellow day with the kids which was nice. Did some little running around with the kids.

Tuesday did some more running around finished up with the photo albums/xmas gifts that me and the kids got for Justine, Becky, and Glad. My folks came over for about a hour Tuesday night.

Wednesday morning we opened up gifts since the kids would be with Justine xmas morning. I didn’t get much, but I was expecting much. I did manage to get a new hat, a 8 gig memory card for my phone, a Ramones shirt, Swingin Utters CD. We then cooked up a nice breakfast. Eggs, bacon, OJ, potatoes.

Later on I decided to be brave and went to the liquor store since we need booze for that night. Line out the door, so I hit the one in Sandy. Same thing line out the door. But it was smart the way they were doing it. They would let about 10 people in at a given time. When it started cleaning out, they let another 10 people in. Waited outside for about 5 minutes, and I was only in line for a few minutes. The ex-inlaws picked up the kids around 2 or so. We went on up to Stephine’s place for dinner, and to get drunk. We got there a little after 7pm. By 10pm Stephine was in bed drunk as a shunk. So yeah, we decided to leave and head on home.

Christmas morning me and Glad went on out to my parents for breakfast, and to hang out for a bit. Later on in the afternoon, we went on over to Glad’s aunt place for xmas dinner.

This morning woke up to about 8-10″ snow on my car, along with snow packed roads. The freeway was all snow packed all the way down to point of the mountain. Once I got past Thanksgiving point, the roads were mostly just wet. Work is boring as shit today. I hate days like these.

I did manage to watch a few movies this week with Glad. I believe it was Tuesday night we watched Death Race. Silly ass entertaining movie. Xmas we watched Hamlet 2. Well we tried to, but we never finished it. I thought it was pretty stupid, and just couldn’t finish up. Christmas day we watched Traitor. That was alright. Seems like it had some plot holes in it. I kinda wished I paid more attention to it.

He Was a Quiet Man

Posted in General, Movies on December 19th, 2008 by James

Saw a crazy ass movie yesterday called, He Was a Quiet Man. I really enjoyed the movie until it started to turn into a love story. Still wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t expecting that. Only problem is, that I wish I managed to stay awake for the ending, but ended up falling asleep. That’s what I get when I try to watch movies laying down on the couch.

The rest of my days off, I got my Christmas shopping done. I wanted to get more gifts, but the whole money thing became an issue.

Went on out to Club Vegas Wednesday. That was alright, but I was in a pissy mood, which kinda sucked. Would have had more fun at Club Vegas if I wasn’t so damn grumpy and pissy. Got to see Jim’s new haircut. After about 13 years, he decided to cut off his long hair. Which is just crazy. The hair cut looks good, and fits him. Makes him look a lot younger also, I’m guessing about 3-5 years younger.
