Starter is Installed!!

Got home from work last night, then ran the kids on up to Layton. Right when I dropped off the kids, a massive wicked thunderstorm hit the valley. Thinking, ‘wow I get to do car work in the rain/storm, this sucks!’ By the time I made it home, had dinner, and got the new part from Auto Zone, it was 9pm. Which at that point in time, the storm was done. I didn’t have any problems with getting the new starter installed. Ran into a slight problem, but it’s nothing to even mention about.

After I got that done, I ran to get some gas in my car. As the gas tank was filling up, I decided to check the power steering and oil in the car. Well my dumbass dropped the power steering cap, and it fell down next to the hot exhaust pipe. I tried to carefully get the cap out, but it fell even further down onto the exhaust pipe. After about 5 seconds, it started smoking. I have yet to find the cap since that. I’m claiming that the whole thing melted within 20 seconds. HA! I ran to Auto Zone before they closed to grab a new power steering cap, got there 5 minutes before they closed.

Highlight of my evening last night. I feel much better now with that done.
